Ask your breeder questions about their dogs health checks.  Ask to see the clearances.

As a breeder, I am working hard to be sure all the puppies I produce come from parents
who are clear of inherited health issues.  That they come from lines with good longevity and that they will have the true Golden temperment for which the breed is known.
